Dress Regulations

1. The following dress regulations are to be adhered at NOM (V) Ante Room, Blue Room/Green Room, Library, Dining Hall, Transit Dining Hall, Main Foyer and Reception area.

Note 1: The term ‘Formals’ is implied for ‘Civilian Officer’ or ‘Officer on leave’ or ‘Officer whose working rig is formal wear’. ‘Formals’ include Formal shirt (Full/ Half sleeves), Formal trouser (Flat fronts/ pleated), Neck tie, Formal shoes/ socks (Leather/ Suede), Belt and other associated accessories. Lounge Suits/ Coats/ Three piece suits etc may also be worn.

Note 2: The term ‘Plain Clothes’ is implied for all Officers/ Civilians and is applicable during dinner and Wednesdays/Sundays/Saturdays/Holidays or as directed by the Command.

Note 3: Officers of Indian Army/ Air force & Coast guard will have to wear their service uniform equivalent to the rigs of the day.

Note 4: Broad guidelines for all members are as follows:

(a) Ensure that dress regulations are adhered to by themselves and other members.
(b) Sports shoes, Sandals, Chappals, slippers are not worn in Mess premises.
(c) Lady Officers are to ensure that they are dressed in a subtle and elegant manner. Punjabi suits, evening wear may be worn for plain clothes wherever applicable.
(d) Bush shirts may be worn during evenings.
(e) Jeans and tucked in T-Shirts (with collar) may be worn during day time only and on Saturdays/ Sundays and Holidays. Gaudy Jeans, flashy clothing, bell-bottom, low waist etc are to be avoided at all times.

Note 5: The duty stewards have been instructed not to serve the Officers not adhering to dress regulations. All efforts will be made to inform such Officers and the senior Officer present. The Officers are requested neither to argue nor obtain any permission in the regard from senior Officer present.
